Four runners die during half-marathon in northern England

Unseasonably hot temperatures seem to be to blame.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "I can confirm four male participants in the race have died, which is more than the usual one or two - but every year more people are taking part."
The "usual" one or two? The usual "one or two"?

I haven't yet found any updates with more info, but full article here.

Egads! The usual one or two must mean they have a budget for body bags? That's crazy.

I hadn't read about that yet! That is terrible. I found this follow-up story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4263090.stm

Do you think its maybe diet related?

People run, they die. Happens all the time.
So much for thinking, exrcise = good health.

That is truly horrific.

Now, i have a totally random question for you: I am creating a blog at work, and i love your big curly quotes, but I don't want to use them without your permission. (Are they your's or blogger's?) Anyway, please let me know if it's ok (the blog is geared to educators, if that helps.)

Thanks!

Wow, crazy stuff. BTW Nice pics. On an earlier note - about the 3 year old- maybe his mother needed a way for him to release some excess energy ;-) Trust me there are days when my kids (3.5 & 2) have been running around our 6 acres for 2 hours playing and they're still not tired!
